Fall sports
The start of the fall high school sports season has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Football practices will now start Saturday, Sept. 5 in the state of Washington and all other sports practices are to get underway Monday, Sept. 7.
That was originally supposed to be the opening weekend for actual games and events.
Now the season cannot begin until Friday, Sept. 18.

The team that trains in Tukwila continues Major League Soccer tournament action with a 7:30 p.m. Sunday match against Vancouver that can be seen live on Fox Sports 1.
Emerald Downs
Auburn's horse racing track will host action at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday and 5 p.m. Thursday.
It will be closed to the public, but betting is available.
Mariners
Seattle continues to train at T-Mobile Park for its Friday, July 24 season opener at Houston.
The action against the Astros will start at 6:10 p.m. that day.
Storm
Seattle will play out its women's basketball season in Brandenton, Fla. starting with a 9 a.m. game against New York.
