information from King County
Both routes of the King County Water Taxi resume collecting fares tomorrow morning, Thursday, Oct.1. Safety enhancements are in place at the passenger ferry terminal, the fare collection site, and on board the vessels to help protect passengers and crew. For more information please visit our Captains Blog.
To minimize contact between passengers and crew when paying fare, use your ORCA card – it also gives you a discounted rate and is the fastest way to pay. Cash, debit/credit card and Transit GO tickets will continue to be accepted. For more information please visit the King County Water Taxi website.
There is plenty of space for physical distancing on both water taxi routes. Passenger load limits remain in effect aboard the water taxi, limiting capacity on Sally Fox and Doc Maynard to 86 passengers, and the Spirit of Kingston to 33. Current ridership has been well below these thresholds.
The water taxi continues to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through regular cleaning and disinfecting between sailings. Masks are required for both passengers and crew.
