West Seattle graduate Nate Pryor turned back-to-back three-point plays to snap a 17-17 tie and send the University of Washington men's basketball team on its way to a 73-41 victory over Seattle University Wednesday.
Pryor drew fouls on his way to the hoop twice with just under eight minutes to play in the first half and converted the ensuing free throw on each to make it a 23-17 game.
The Huskies never trailed after that, amassing a 37-22 halftime lead with the help of 11 of Pryor's 13 points.
Pryor, a junior transfer from North Idaho College, iced two free throws with 7:16 to play in the second half.
It was the 6-foot, 4-inch point guard's first start of the young season.
Pryor drew praise from the Pac-12 cable television network's announcers at halftime.
"He was fantastic in the first half," said one.
"He loves the transition," said the other.
Pryor left the game with 4:34 to play, finishing with five rebounds and four assists.
"I like the way he shared the ball," concluded one announcer.
