High school football in the area for this year will conclude Saturday when Kennedy Catholic hosts Mount Rainier at 1 p.m.

The action at Highline Memorial will be the Lancers' homecoming.

Girls soccer

West Seattle will host Chief Sealth for a 4 p.m. Thursday match at the Walt Hundley Playfield.

Cross country

Metro League Mountain Division meet action takes place at Blanchet Wednesday with the Sound Division meet to follow Thursday at the same site.

Mariners

Seattle wraps up its current road trip by playing the Baltimore Orioles at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday and 10:05 a.m. Thursday.

The Mariners come home to T-Mobile Park to play the Houston Astros at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 6:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.

The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers fly in for a 7:10 p.m. Monday and 1:10 p.m. Tuesday contest.

Mariners games are carried on the ROOT Sports cable television network.

Seattle opens regular Major League Soccer action Friday, hosting Minnesota at 6:30 p.m. at Lumen Field.

Fox Sports 1 will televise the action live.

Seattle visits Toronto for a 9 a.m. Saturday Major League Rugby match that can be seen on ROOT Sports.

OL Reign

Houston comes to Cheney Stadium in Tacoma for a 7 p.m. Friday women's soccer contest.

Seattle's Western Hockey League team hosts the Everett Silvertips for 6:05 p.m. Friday action at the Showare Center in Kent.

Husky baseball

The University of Washington entertains Texas State for a 5 p.m. Friday game.

Husky fastpitch

Oregon's Ducks fly in for 5 p.m. Friday action and for a 4:30 p.m. Saturday doubleheader.

Saturday's games can be seen on Pac 12 cable television.

Husky volleyball

Washington opens NCAA tournament action in Omaha, Neb. with a 12:30 p.m. Thursday match against Towson or Dayton.

Husky beach volleyball

The Husky Invitational takes place at Alki Beach this weekend.

Washington plays Portland at 11 a.m. Friday and Oregon at 1:30 p.m. ahead of a 5:15 p.m. match against Hawai'i.

Seeding matches are at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Saturday.  The losers play for third at 1 p.m. and the winners play for the championship at 2:15 p.m.

Washington hosts more action Sunday, playing Arizona at 10 a.m. and Hawai'i at 3 p.m.
