Hello Fellow Democrats! Here are my callouts for the week!
Town Hall Next Weekend
The 2021 Legislative session has come to a close. For those keeping track, there have been many wins during the session. Join us to learn about the details of this session from your 34th Legislative District representatives Senator Joe Nguyen, Rep. Eileen Cody and Rep. Fitzgibbon. US Rep Pramila Jayapal will share her state of the union as well in this 90 minute Town Hall. Please submit questions upfront at https://bit.ly/TownHall-Questions. This session is open to the public and you do not have to register. Join us on Zoom at 1pm on Sunday, May 2nd. https://bit.ly/2021-34LD-TownHall
Ready to Run?
The state party has partnered with Contest Every Race this year to be sure there are solid Democrats competing in every county across the state. CER is working to end GOP dominance in rural America by making sure that no Republican runs for office without a fight. While we have lots amazing candidates in the 34th, there are quite a few lesser-known elections this year. These down ballot races are an excellent opportunity to test the waters of public service. Positions include:
- Airport Commissioner positions 1, 2 and 3
- Burien Water District 20 position 3
- Burien Water District 49 position 3
- Burien SW Suburban Sewer District position 3
- Burien Fire District 2
- Vashon School Board positions 2 and 4
- Vashon Coal Creek Utility District Commissioner position 3
- Vashon Sewer Commissioner position 3
- Vashon Park & Rec Commissioner positions 2 and 4
- Vashon Water District 19 Commissioner position 3
- Vashon Fire & Rescue position 3 and 5
- Vashon Hospital District 5 Commissioner position 3
If you or anyone you know are interested in these positions, please contact our Caucus & Elections Chair at caucus@34dems.org.

April Speak Up Survey - Meeting Venues!
We need your honest input! We are considering new venues to hold our meetings. We will continue to have some, but not all, of our meetings at the Hall at Fauntleroy. We want to hold our meetings across the district in order to make attendance convenient for all the neighbors we represent. We would like to know what ideas you have for new venues. Please list any and all - don't hold back! Of course, there is also an open field where you can provide any feedback you’d like to share. https://bit.ly/SpeakUpSurveyApr2021 Thank you for speaking up!
