SDOT crews will work on the west side of West Marginal Way near the Duwamish Longhouse. This is one of a several projects to provide safer and easier access to the Duwamish Longhouse.
Construction will start on the west side of West Marginal Way from the Duwamish River Trail crossing signal and the Duwamish Longhouse. Work will start Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. One southbound lane and at least one northbound lane will be maintained during construction. Please expect potential delays when driving through the area.
Concrete work on SW Alaska St
As part of our work to monitor and maintain the West Seattle Bridge detour route, SDOT is replacing concrete panels on SW Alaska St. Construction will occur on SW Alaska St at the intersection of 38th Ave SW. Work will occur on Saturday, May 22 at 8 a.m. through early Monday, May 24 before the morning commute.
On Saturday, work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, after the concrete is poured, crews will need to keep the traffic control in place until Monday morning when the concrete is fully hardened for vehicles to drive over.
One travel lane in each direction will be maintained around the work area for people driving and people biking. Sidewalk access will be maintained throughout the work for people walking.
Please go slow when driving in the work areas. Watch for people biking and walking, follow signs, and expect delays as traffic will be shifted around the work areas.
This work is weather permitting, and we will share updates if the schedule changes. If possible, we ask you to please plan your weekend travels accordingly to detour around this work and avoid the work areas.
