Seattle Public Schools is working on making seismic improvements to increase earthquake safety to Roxhill Elementrary School on Roxbury Street SW
To accomplish this they are lowering the height of the chimney to around 12 feet.
Also part of the plan are improvements in shear wall capacity in classrooms, improvements in roof-to-wall connections in the gymnasium, auditorium, and the covered play area.
They got a slightly early start on the work on July 15 and it should be completed by Fall.
No formal statement about anything being done with the Fallout shelter underneath??
