Crews were out in force just west of White Center trying to address the problem, now described as an equipment failure. The latest estimate on power being restored is now around 4pm

The second power outage near White Center, that according to reports from people in the area was caused by a blown transformer, was repaired roughly 7 hours ago. But the original outage, whose cause remains unknown, is still going on. It affects 59 customers in a cluster along Roxbury Street SW and along the west side of the White Center business district along 16th SW down to 98th Street SW. City Light said it should be restored by 8am.

Two side by side outages near White Center have cut power for more that 2100 City Light customers. The first began at 3:24pm and affected 50 customers. The second began at 5:18 affecting 2055.
Caused by what City Light called an equipment failure for the second, the outage is from 26th SW on the west, Just shy of Cloverdale Street on the north, just past 9th Ave SW on the east and along Roxbury on the south, extending into White Center along 16th SW and 11th SW. The first outage is still under investigation
Crews were seen working on the high voltage power lines earlier in the day along Delridge Way SW.
They estimate power will be back on soon according to the City Light Twitter feed.
