Area teams kick off their seasons with 7 p.m. non-league games Friday.

Chief Sealth travels to Tukwila to take on Foster and Mount Rainier will be home at Highline Memorial playing Silas.

West Seattle entertains Sammamish at the Southwest Athletic Complex as Highline travels to Kent-Meridian.

Ballard is at Lake Washington and Kennedy Catholic at Eastside Catholic.

Tyee and Evergreen have combined forces this year and the team opens on the road at Sultan.

Volleyball

Sequim comes to West Seattle for a 7:30 p.m. match Monday and Mount Rainier goes to Graham-Kapowsin for 7:15 p.m. Tuesday action.

Girls soccer

West Seattle will be home at Hundley playing Woodinville at 4 p.m. Tuesday with Evergreen hosting Highline at 5 p.m. and Kennedy Catholic hosting Holy Names at 6 p.m. at Starfire Stadium.

Ballard visits Mercer Island at 7:30 p.m.

Seattle hosts the Houston Astros at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday at T-Mobile Park before going to Arizona to play the Diamondbacks at 6:40 p.m. Friday, 5:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.

Monday the Mariners are at Houston for a 4:10 p.m. games ahead of a 5:10 p.m. clash with the Astros on Tuesday.

Seattle hosts Minnesota for a 2 p.m. match at Lumen Field Saturday, Sept. 11.

Seattle opens the regular season with a 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 visit to the Indianapolis Colts.

Seattle entertains New York at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett and Washington at the same time and place Tuesday.

The women's soccer team visits Houston at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Louisville at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tacoma goes to Reno to play the Aces at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday ahead of a 1:05 p.m. Monday game and a 6:35 p.m. Tuesday battle.
