Newly elected City Councilmembers Iris Guzmán, Mohammed Egal and Jake Simpson were sworn in at City Hall by City Clerk Kristina Gregg. On Nov. 23, King County Elections certified Simpson as the winner for Council Position 2, Mohammed Egal as Council Position 4 and Iris Guzmán as Council Position 6.
Jake Simpson, was previously sworn in at the Nov. 23 Regular Council to fill an unexpired term ending December 31, 2021. All three will serve full-terms starting Jan.1, 2022 – Dec. 31, 2025.
The next City Council meeting is Jan. 11–the council takes a break during the holidays. Until further notice, all council meetings will continue to be held virtually. You can find City Council agendas online before each meeting and the public is always invited to join.
