Seattle Veterinary Outreach (SVO) has partnered with the Duwamish Tribe and the ASPCA to offer monthly Health Fairs serving Native Americans. The first event will be held at Transform Burien on March 23rd from 11 am - 2 pm, at 15623 Des Moines Memorial Drive Burien, WA 98148. All Native Americans and Alaskan Natives are welcome at the event!
The goal of these events is to reduce disparities in access to healthcare options for Indigenous people and their pets by bringing multiple health providers together in one spot. The event is sponsored in part by a generous grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (The ASPCA®) Northern Tier Shelter, with event support from Molina Healthcare.
Services offered include:
· Free Veterinary Care and Social Service Outreach by Seattle Veterinary Outreach (exam, microchips, vaccines, sick pet care, cat neuters, flea treatments)
· Medicaid enrollment and assistance with Apple Health by Molina Healthcare
· Information about Medication-Assisted Therapy from Ideal Option
