Information from Loop the Lupe
The annual Loop the Lupe benefit event will take place at Walt Hundley Playfield in West Seattle on Saturday, June 4, in support of Our Lady of Guadalupe church. The event has grown to now offer something for everyone. A 5k Fun Run, an obstacle course race, a senior saunter, and a youth dash are all part of the event. Live music from West Seattle's School of Rock, a BBQ, a beer garden, and exhibitors are featured as well.
SIGN UP HERE FOR THE EVENT
Here's what's in store for 2022:
- IN-PERSON RACING: We're once again offering four events--the wall-climbing, mud-crawling, "ninja warrior" Obstacle Course 5k, the 5K run/walk, the Senior Saunter walk (100% flat, no obstacles), and the Youth Dash (a 1K loop with obstacles & adult supervision).
- YOU GET TO SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE: This event is one of the major fundraisers for Our Lady of Guadalupe Church each year. As you might imagine, the need for OLG's social outreach work--meals for shut-ins, homeless services, and help with migrant communities--is greater now than ever. So, join us for the Loop, and have some fun while raising much needed funds for those in need!
- VIRTUAL RACING: Not feeling up to a trip to the park? No problem! Register to get a race t-shirt and record a video of yourself on your own crazy home obstacle course, then post it to our on our Facebook page! Prizes for the top entrants!
- ALL PARTICIPANTS: The Loop's live music, food, and beer garden are back, too, this summer, with a new layout for post-race relaxation at the park! Heads up: AFTER MAY 16, T-SHIRT SIZES MAY BE LIMITED, SO GET A TEAM TOGETHER AND SIGN UP SOON!
THE COURSE!
The "Loop" is a 1K course looping Walt Hundley Playfield. On your 1K, you'll face 7 different obstacles from tires, to walls to mud pits that you'll have to tackle to get to the finish line. All participants will complete the loop 5 times to complete their 5K race, which means 35 obstacles to conquer! Check out the course map to find which obstacles stand in your way!
SHOW ME THE SHIRT!
Each participant gets one of our slick, ready-to-race tech shirts, this year in men's and women's sizes! REGISTER to get yours today--and thanks for some great design work from Susie Perry Designs! Remember, T-SHIRT SIZES MAY BE LIMITED FOR REGISTRANTS AFTER MAY 16, SO SIGN UP RIGHT AWAY!
AND THE MEDAL GOES TO... YOU!
Check out the first-ever Loop the 'Lupe finisher medal, designed by Stride Awards, featuring a "mud"-spattered ribbon and a ROTATING foot logo, courtesy Susie Perry Designs! This award is for all finishers in all events (Obstacle Course, Fun Run, Senior Saunter and Youth Dash), but you gotta be in it to win it!
