A boathouse near the 1st Ave South Bridge was a total loss after a fire swept through the structure on Tuesday May 3. The fire also destroyed another boat just adjacent.

A fire that broke out at 636 1st Ave South in a boathouse on the Duwamish River on Tuesday destroyed three boats and the boathouse that housed two of the boats. One person is reported to have sustained injuries, however search of boats is still underway. Seattle fire remains on the scene working to put out hot spots.
One person reported to have been aboard one of the burnt boats has not been located at this time
The cause of the fire and damage estimate are still forthcoming but an investigation is underway.
The smoke and flames could be seen by drivers on the 1st Ave South Bridge just adjacent to the scene of the fire.
