Rob Saka has announced his candidacy for the District 1 Seattle City Council.
Rob Saka who lives in the Delridge neighborhood, has announced his candidacy for the District 1 City Council seat being vacated by the departure of Lisa Herbold.
Saka has served as a King County Charter Review Commissioner, and a member of the Seattle Police Chief Search Committee that chose Chief Diaz, as well as a member of the King County Districting Committee.
Saka has also been a board member of the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, and as the former vice president of the Loren Miller Bar Association, a civil rights organization composed of Black attorneys in the state. His announcement via social media states:
"I am excited to announce that I am running for Seattle City Council in District 1!
I bring 20+ years of experience collaborating across differences, finding common ground, and achieving results that work. We need this kind of collaborative, solutions-oriented approach in City Hall now more than ever, and I couldn’t be more energized at the opportunity we have to pave a better way forward for our city together. I am ready to take my public service experience and make our district a better place."
