Seattle Christian snatched up the second and last state berth out of the West Central District Class 1A tournament with Saturday's win over Vashon Island at Mount Tahoma High School.

Rainier Beach 71, West Seattle 58

West Seattle still advances to state regional action despite Saturday's loss on the Bellevue College court.

The Wildcats wound up with the No. 6 seed out of the Sea-King District Class 3A tournament.

Girls basketball

West Seattle 60, Eastside Catholic 57

The Wildcats fended off Eastside Catholic to take Saturday's battle for the No. 5 state regional berth out of the Sea-King 3A girls tournament.

The action took place at Bellevue College.

State regional tournaments take place next Saturday with times, locations and opponents to be announced.
