The Alki Point Lighthouse is a functioning, fully automated aid-to-navigation on an active US Coast Guard site.
Located near Alki Beach in West Seattle, you can see the West Point Light Station in Discovery Park (north), Puget Sound vessel traffic and the Olympic Mountains (west). Mount Rainier (south) can be seen on clear days.
US Coast Guard Auxiliarists are proud to provide public Lighthouse tours on summer dates. Due to the nature of the site, tours may sometimes either be shortened or canceled on short notice. Any closed dates will be listed on this page and also communicated via their Facebook page.
The lighthouse and grounds are open for tours most Sunday afternoons between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend.
First visitors enter the site at 1 p.m. Last tour begins at 3:45. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary plans to provide tours every Sunday afternoon during the summer season through Labor Day weekend, pending availability of sufficient volunteer staffing. Any tour updates will be published on Friday each week on this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/alkipointlighthouse
We can occasionally accommodate off-season group tour requests. Please email us with details of your request and your contact information at least 30 days in advance.
Requests for U.S. Lighthouse Society "passport stamps" for our lighthouse may be sent via email during our off season. There is no charge for this service. Please be sure to include your mailing address. During our summer season, we're happy to stamp your passport at the lighthouse when you come for a tour.
