Local barista snd artist Helen Johnson has been a "latte artist" for more than two decades but normally she only gets requests for her signature "Winking Sun" atop the foam of a cup.

So when she got contacted by Fox Sports about her art she was shocked. "I'm so nervous she said," and with good reason. They want to feature her coffee art skills on the Major League broadcast of the All Star game next Tuesday.

Helen said she told her they plan to have her attempt to paint specific players (and their uniform numbers) plus logos and more on a special set they have for the purpose. 

But the actual work would be done at West Seattle Grounds Coffee in the Admiral District. She's able to create the art in less than a minute typically but more detailed art does take a bit longer.  She normally uses a thermometer as her tool of choice but also uses stir sticks, spoons and is skilled at what is called "free pour" art.
