A 19-year-old male suspect is in custody and a 51-year-old male was injured after a shooting in Ballard Sunday afternoon.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a male shot in the 1400 block of Northwest 67th Street. Police arrived and located the male victim with a gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.
Officers were able to identify and arrest the suspect at a nearby residence. Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded to the scene and are working to establish the exact circumstances that led up to the shooting.
A firearm was recovered during the investigation.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of assault.

The first appearance hearings start at 1:30 p.m. today in King County Jail Courtroom No. 1 (Typically first appearance hearings start at 2:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays they start at 1:30 p.m.)
Will there be documents available?
If the court finds probable cause, the first appearance document will be available after the first appearance hearing.

No previous cases involving this person have been referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
