Huard racks up yardage
Kennedy Catholic graduate Sam Huard threw for 2,205 yards in his just completed redshirt sophomore season with the Cal Poly Mustangs football team.
Huard completed 185 of 304 passes on his way to the yardage, scoring 18 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
The 6-foot, 2 inch Huard, who checked in at 200 pounds, had a 134.7 quarterback rating.
Huard had transferred in time from the University of Washington to also play spring ball for the Mustangs, completing 11 of 12 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns.
Huard found himself leading a familiar offense at Cal Poly as Sheldon Cross, his former head coach at Kennedy, now serves as the Mustangs' offensive coordinator.
Soto scores four assists
Mount Rainier graduate Christian Soto scored four assists this year as a 5-5 senior midfielder for the University of Washington men's soccer squad.
Soto finished his college career with nine goals and 15 assists for 33 points.
He started in 18 games this past fall season.
Nguyen takes 11 shots
Kennedy Catholic graduate Ashley Nguyen was a junior midfielder this year at Western Washington University.
Nguyen attempted 11 shots for the Vikings with three on goal.
The 5-4 Nguyen the GNAC All Academic team for her third time in as many years. She started in seven of her 12 games played.
Lerwick wraps up year at WSU
Des Moines resident and Kennedy Catholic graduate Lexi Lerwick just completed her sophomore season as a defender for the Washington State University women's soccer team.
Lerwick stands at 5-9.
