The White Center Food Bank is close to re-opening in their new location 10016 16th Ave SW, in the middle of the community. They revealed the new exterior mural that celebrates the diversity in the community.
Randy Nguyen with the food bank said, "We're so excited to be in our new spot. Our expected date of opening to the public is January 8."
A Grand Opening Party is set for January 12 from 5pm - 7pm. More details about the celebration will be shared in the first week of January.
In 2022, more than 95,000 people turned to the food bank. Those who visit the food bank can shop, just like they would in a grocery store, for the items they and their families want and need. Customers are able to choose from a selection of dry, canned and perishable items; including fresh produce, meat, eggs, and dairy. They also provide diapers, formula and other supplies through a Baby Pantry to help ease the financial burden for families with young children.
