The finger piers, made small craft boat launching and loading, are in the process of being replaced. The project is expected to be complete in about 90 days. One float will be open at all times during construction.

After some delays due to environmental concerns the well known finger piers at the Don Armeni Boat Ramp are being replaced.
The Army Corps of Engineers and National Marine Fisheries Service were confronted with several emergent priority projects (West Seattle Bridge) and regulatory changes which has slowed the permitting process. These agencies are now working through a large backlog of permit applications.
The permit, NWS-2018-1191-WRD - Don Armeni, has been under review since early June 2021 and has been moved forward for Endangered Species Act (ESA) consultation.
One float will be open at all times during construction.
Parks workers said the project would take 1.5 months to complete. The wooden pilings will come out and steel ones will replace them. They will also remove the concrete ramps that lead to the piers with new ones that will start a bit sooner and be taller on the water side. They will also extend the piers out another 30 feet further than they currently are. The old tires are getting retired in lieu of a different floatation system for the deck.
