Eric White-Sergeant, Public Information Officer for King County Sheriff's office said in a statement
"At 11:38 AM today a KCSO Deputy, assigned to the White Center area, of Unincorporated King County did a business check at the Safeway located at 9620 28th Ave SW.
Upon doing so he spotted a vehicle which was listed as stolen and occupied by at least one person.
Upon other deputies arriving they attempted to box the vehicle in, to avoid the vehicle fleeing the scene.
At some point the driver attempted to leave but was not able to leave in the vehicle.
A deputy witnessed the male driver, approximately 40 years old, swallow some pills.
Also located in the stolen vehicle was a woman, approximately 30-35 years old.
She was booked into a local jail on warrants. There was a fire department on crew at the Safeway when this happened, and they checked the male out."
The Sheriff's office was not certain as yet as to the disposition of the male driving the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was listed as stolen out of the City of Renton.
