Eastside Catholic 87, West Seattle 62
West Seattle came up way short in its Sea-King District tournament championship game Saturday, but is still going on to state.
As the No. 9 state Class 3A seed, the Wildcats received a bye past Tuesday's loser-out opening round.
But they still face a loser-out regional game Saturday, playing Tuesday's winner between Lincoln and Lake Washington at 2 p.m. at Bellevue College.
Saturday's winner advances to play a 2 p.m. loser-out game at the Tacoma Dome the following Wednesday.
Wednesday's winner plays in a Thursday state quarterfinal.
Girls basketball
Kingston 58, Foster 56
Foster fell two points shy of a state Class 2A tournament berth with Saturday's loss to its visitors from the Kitsap Peninsula.
Foster 53, Steilacoom 43
The Bulldogs kept their season alive for one more day with Friday's victory.
Roosevelt 49, West Seattle 46
West Seattle's season ended with Friday's narrow defeat at the hands of the Roughriders.
