Detectives arrested suspects in two separate homicides in two days.
Officers responded to the first homicide in West Seattle on July 23, 2023 at about 10:40 p.m. in the 5400 block of Delridge Way Southwest. Initially, they located evidence of a shooting, but no victims.
After a crash on the West Seattle Bridge shortly after, a 27-year-old man driving the car was found shot several times. He died at Harborview Medical Center.
Seattle police detectives worked with SWAT and the Gun Violence Reduction Unit to arrest a juvenile suspect on March 12.
The second homicide happened in Pioneer Square on Feb. 25 at about 1:30 a.m. near Occidental Avenue South and South Washington Street.
It was reported three people were shot in a parking lot. Two people were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A third victim was taken to Virginia Mason Hospital in a car and was immediately transferred to Harborview Medical Center where he died.
On March 11, detectives interviewed several witnesses and a suspect. A 23-year-old man was booked in the King County Jail for second-degree murder.
