Thu Apr 4 Cozy Comedy returns to Great American diner for another night of independently produced local entertainment. Presented at the Great American Diner and Bar in the heart of the West Seattle Junction.
This show is going to be unique! No auditions, just a full roster of paid comic appearances and headlined by Emmett Montgomery.
Utah born, Seattle based storyteller and comedian, Emmett Montgomery has been failing beautifully on and off the stage for almost two decades and has been voted by the readers of Seattle Weekly as Seattle's Best Comic 2015, 2017 and 2018 (it wasn't a category in 2016) and was one of the top 100 on Season 9 of NBCs Last Comic Standing. He produces, hosts and curates the comedy showcase Joketellers Union at Clockout Lounge on Wednesdays with comedian and comix artist Brett Hamil and is a regular host of The Moth Seattle and has been a featured guest at dozens of arts and comedy festivals across the North American continent.
In addition to stand-up, he enjoys doing neat things like telling sad stories on podcasts, giving color commentary at indie pro wrestling shows, teaching storytelling and public speaking workshops for the formerly homeless, and putting on footie pajamas with Santa Claus faces for feet and educating people about the fun nightmare of Christmas as Sugar Plum Gary for his critically acclaimed cosmic horror holiday show. He believes that the best comedy comes from a place of community, kindness and strangeness. Mr. Montgomery lives in Seattle with his wife, who is beautiful, and his young daughter Carmen who is some sort of chihuahua (probably.)
