Bid to support local history! The Southwest Seattle Historical Society’s online auction opens Monday, April 29!
Featuring unique West Seattle experiences, businesses, local art and more, the annual auction helps raise critical funds to support the Southwest Seattle Historical Society and the Log House Museum at Alki Beach.
For outdoor enthusiasts, this year’s auction items include a unique three day stay at the Lodge at Erik’s Ranch and Retreats located outside of Yellowstone National Park in Paradise Valley Montana. The stay at the lodge is free and you can schedule guided excursions including guided horseback riding, flyfishing, rafting and more for an additional fee.
For those who attend the organization’s Spring Gala on May 3rd, live auction items include the crowd favorite ‘Make your own Ice Cream Flavor’ with Husky Deli, a custom traffic signal box mural (or privately owned canvas painting) by Desmond Hansen Art, and a private tour of the West Duwamish Greenbelt with Ken Workman, a descendant of Chief Sealth.
Register for the auction today and get reminder texts when the items are live on April 29. The auction closes at 8pm on Thursday, May 2.

The rich history of the Duwamish Peninsula has shaped, and continues to shape, our community. This year, as we mark significant anniversaries — including the establishment of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society in 1984, the construction of the Fir Lodge/Alki Homestead in 1904, and the installation of the Belvedere/Admiral Viewpoint replica Totem Pole at the Log House Museum in 2014 — the Southwest Seattle Historical Society draws upon the significance of the past to navigate new strategic goals and initiatives.
