The 90th anniversary of the West Seattle Grand Parade is set to roll at 11am on Saturday July 20, Temperatures at the parade start are predicted to be 74 degrees under sunny skies. If you plan on attending go early and get your place.

It has been staged annually since 1935 (except for an interruption by the Pandemic), and is hosted by the West Seattle Rotary Service Foundation. It is one of the oldest and most beloved community events in the Seattle area. The West Seattle Grand Parade celebrates the diverse community and participants of the greater Seattle area and is a proud member of the Seafair community of events which includes the pirates, clowns, marching bands, drill teams, floats, pageantry and excitement that leads up to the Seafair Torchlight Parade the following weekend.  

Parade Route

The West Seattle Parade starts Southbound on California AVE SW and SW Lander Street at 11:00am and ends on California AVE SW and SW Edmunds ST. 

Float Dodger 5k

Prior to the parade the Float Dodger 5k run will staged beginning at Hiawatha Playfield. The race, now in its 10th year is a benefit for the West Seattle Foodbank.

Race Schedule

8:30am - Registration and Packet Pickup opens 

9:00am - Free Kids Dash

9:00am - California Ave SW closes to traffic 

9:30am - Race starts 

9:45am - Root Beer Floats start flowing

10:00am - Awards ceremony  

10:15am - After party at West Seattle Runner 

10:30am - Parade floats are unleashed 

Don't stand in line on race day - pick up your race stuff on Friday, July 19 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at West Seattle Runner.
