Ghosts and goblins of all ages will descend upon downtown Burien this October 26th for the community's annual "BooIn Burien" celebration, featuring an afternoon packed with free family activities and spirited entertainment.
The Halloween festivities, centered around SW 152nd and 153rd Streets, will kick off at noon with the traditional merchant trick-or-treating. Young candy seekers can fill their bags until supplies run out, with local businesses along the route stocking up for the expected crowds.
New to this year's lineup is a free haunted house experience in Town Square Park. Running from noon until 3 PM, this spooky attraction adds an extra thrill to the day's festivities while remaining family-friendly. Throughout the afternoon, complimentary hay rides will shuttle visitors between Olde Burien and Town Square Park, offering a festive way to explore the celebration's various venues.
Dog lovers won't want to miss the Costume Dog Parade and Play, scheduled for 3:30 PM at the Burien Downtown Dog Park, located at the corner of 6th and SW 152nd Street. Four-legged participants will strut their stuff in their Halloween finest, combining tail-wagging fun with holiday spirit.
As day turns to evening, adults can join the Creepy Crawlers Pub Crawl from 5 to 11pm, featuring an impressive $1,000 first-place prize courtesy of event sponsor DISCOVER BURIEN. This addition to the festivities ensures the Halloween celebration continues well into the night, offering grown-ups their own chance to dress up and join in the fun.
A spokesperson for DISCOVER BURIEN emphasized that most activities are free and open to the public, making this an accessible community event for families throughout the region. With the variety of activities scheduled, from trick-or-treating to haunted houses to pet parades, "BooIn Burien" aims to create a memorable Halloween experience for visitors of all ages.
