On January 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the neighborhood group Schmitz Park Creek Restore will host a vital community event to pull invasive ivy, holly, and blackberry plants, allowing native flora and fauna to thrive. The event, which welcomes participants of all ages, will be held at the intersection of SW Admiral Way and SW Stevens St.
As of now, only 1 out of the 20 needed participants have registered, highlighting the importance of community involvement to ensure the event’s success. Volunteers are encouraged to wear sturdy boots and clothes suitable for getting wet and dirty. Snacks and drinks should be brought along as needed.
