Belated blaze on the beach says final farewell to last year
The annual Christmas Tree burn on the beach finally flamed up and out February 1.

The annual Christmas Tree burn on Alki finally took place on February 1 after a delay prompted out of respect for the lives and property lost in the California wildfires.
The blaze took place in the 2600 block of Alki Ave SW and given the delay necessarily featured fewer trees. An estimated 50 trees met their fiery fate.
50 to 60 people took part in the event and the Seattle Fire Department did show up for safety reasons keeping their distance.
