Stepping into 3270 California Ave SW, the room buzzed with a unique creative energy, a testament to Jennifer Young’s vision. Jennifer, the owner, created this space to house not one, but four brands: Alair, Dylan, Kid-Friendly Footwear, and her first venture, Three Little Birds.

Three Little Birds, a boutique kids consignment shop, is where it all began for Jennifer. It had been her "first baby". Originally opened 11 years ago in the Morgan Junction, it moved to the Junction, and then Jennifer decided to bring all of her businesses together in one location. The move was born partly from necessity, as the pandemic caused a change of plans, but it led to an exciting new concept: a unified shopping experience for her customers.

The building is now called West Seattle Mercantile, an idea that Jennifer had been eager to bring to life. She observed that small businesses are adapting by becoming one-stop shops, and that is what she was creating for her customers.

The idea of having all her businesses in one place meant that Jennifer could come to a single location to work each day.
Jennifer's other brands included Alair, a neighborhood gift shop, and Dylan, an everyday clothing brand for all ages, from children to adults. Kid-Friendly Footwear offers a range of brands including Tsukihohi, Bogs, Kamik, Keen, and more.
The new signage will denote all four brands under West Seattle Mercantile's roof.
Although the store does not yet have their signs displayed, they are open for business. They plan to put up signs within the next couple of weeks, and will celebrate with a grand opening.
The West Seattle Mercantile is closed on Mondays. However, it is open from 10 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday, offering customers a wide array of shopping options under one roof.
