White Center will soon be home to a new location of Mr. B's Meadery, bringing a unique and ancient beverage to the neighborhood. Brandon Eller, a White Center native and wife Krista are the owners of Mr. B's Meadery, soon opening a second location at 9444 Delridge Way SW, in the former Center Tool Rental building which closed in September. The grand opening is scheduled for February 28 at 3:30pm with a ribbon cutting at 4pm. A soft opening for Mead Club members took place Feb. 13. The other location is in the Fremont District.
The new location will feature two distinct areas:
- The main space will be designed with an enchanted forest theme, incorporating plants and rustic decor. Seating for 20 to 40 people provided.
- A smaller area, just adjacent is the "The Tool Crib," primarily a workshop area but could be used if necessary for events.
Mr. B's Meadery is known for its wide variety of mead flavors, with over 18 rotating options ranging from dry to sweet and including fruit, spicy, and sparkling varieties. Mead is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented honey, which predates both beer and wine. Some popular flavors include "Dragon's Breath," a full-strength mead with ginger, cardamom, lemon, lime, and ghost pepper, and "Queen's Diamond," a lower-alcohol sparkling mead with lavender, lemon, and lime.
The alcohol content ranges from roughly 3% to 11% depending on ingredients and one honey based beverage is offered that is alcohol free. Other beverages will be available as well.

At the new location, customers can enjoy mead by the glass, in tasting flights, or to-go in bottles and growlers. Mr. B's Meadery, while focused on 21+
is an all-ages establishment, making it a welcoming space for families. While the initial food options will be limited to pre-made snacks like charcuterie boxes, chips, and crackers, there may be plans to expand the food menu later.
Eller, began making mead as a hobby for eight years before getting licensed. Krista does the artwork for the labels. The name "Mr. B" comes from a nickname he was given and the business name was his home brew name.
Mr. B's Meadery aims to be a community-focused space, and Eller wants to create an environment where people feel comfortable and welcome. The goal is to provide a safe space where people can enjoy alcoholic beverages. There are plans to participate in community events and festivals. The owners hope to make this location a self-sustaining "forever home" for their business. The tasting room will also include a lending library and a game area plus a space to honor the former tenant Center Tool Rental.
The hours of operation for Mr. B's Meadery to start will be Thurs 5-10pm, Friday 5-11pm, Sat 1-11pm, and Sun 1-7pm. And in April or May they will open Tues and Wed 5-10pm.
The owners are also open to hosting private parties and events. The location is designed with two main spaces which can be separated by a curtain to allow for private events.
Mr. B's Meadery in White Center promises to be a unique addition to the neighborhood, offering a taste of ancient tradition with a modern twist. There will also be a liquid light show with an overhead projector but no televisions.
