Bill Foulkes is seeking elective office after many years of active participation in the community. "I will listen to you, and combine my business background and community involvement to effectively shape Federal Way to be a better place to live, works, and own a business," Foulkes said.
Foulkes' has served as a member of the City's Parks Commission, Human Services Commission, and on the Public Facility Advisory Board. The Public Facility Advisory Board determined after a thorough review that a city staff driven proposal for a downtown city hall would not be in the best interest of Federal Way residents. This determination saved millions of dollars and allowed for the eventual purchase of a city hall near Celebration Park at substantial savings over the proposed downtown city hall.
Foulkes said "I have seen our city government run from the perspective of an involved citizen and there is reason for concern. I will be a voice for the citizens and businesses in this community, not a rubber stamp for city staff on crucial issues that will have long-term consequences on us all."
Foulkes earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. He currently works for Hammes Company, a local health care consulting firm. He has been involved in numerous Federal Way youth organizations and currently serves as President of Federal Way National Little League. He and his wife Bonnie have three children, Jacob, 15, Casey, 13, and Rebecca, 4.
