Officers performed a wellness check on the resident of 32417 8th Avenue Southwest. A friend of the resident called to report that she had not seen the man in four days and was worried about him. The man had suffered a stroke about four years earlier and lived alone. Officers entered the residence using a key provided by the neighbor and found the 73-year-old man dead in his bed. Police found no signs of foul play and the ME took the body since no family members could be located.
Burglars broke into the residence at 30648 11th Avenue South by cutting a screen and opening an unlocked window on the side of the house. The suspect(s) took multiple items including jewelry, video games and digital camera. Officers processed the scene for fingerprints, but have no suspects or witnesses.
Federal Way PD picked up Delrico J. Sweet from the King County Jail on an outstanding Federal Way warrant. Officers then transported Sweet to the Fife Jail.
A woman called the police to report her son as a possible juvenile runaway. She last saw him around 8 p.m. on 8/22 and woke up in the morning to find him missing. The woman checked with her son's friends but no one has seen him. She told officers that this is typical behavior for him lately, and she believes he is using pot and alcohol. She also thinks her son took $15 from her wallet and a house key.
Officers arrived at 33619 25th Place SW, L2 and found a dead man inside. The victim had an extensive medical history and suffered from poor health. The officer met with his wife, who informed police that his passing was expected.
