Cole Bixenman scored Todd Beamer's touchdown on a 1-yard run and Sean Davis kicked the PAT as well as an earlier field goal from 35 yards out in the Saturday, Sept. 24 game.
Beamer 40, Decatur 27
Todd Beamer came away with the win from a wild high-scoring game at Federal Way Memorial Friday. Both teams now stand at 1-4 in SPSL South Division and overall play.
Boys tennis
Decatur 4, Puyallup 1
No. 1 singles player Chris Rice remained undefeated with a 6-0, 6-0 victory Monday, Sept. 26. Kevin Hilden won the No. 2 singles match, 6-1, 7-6 (7-0). Tim Blackner and Travis Wagner combined for a 6-2, 6-3 No.2 doubles win and Joey Hua and Mike Montalbo took the No. 3 doubles match, 7-5, 6-2.
Beamer 4, Bethel 1
Kyle Christianson won No. 1 singles for Todd Beamer High School Monday, Sept. 26 by a 6-3, 6-1 score and the No. 1 doubles team of Brian Shaw and Colin Zalewski won, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Mike Johnson and Corey Zalewski were 6-0, 6-3 No. 2 doubles winners and Jason Kim and Jason Lee took the No. 3 doubles match, 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.

Thomas Jefferson won all but the No. 1 singles match Monday, Sept. 26.
Sam Yi took the No. 2 singles match, 6-2, 6-1, with Chris Yoon and Greg Yu taking No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-1. Eric Nishimura and Derek Moore were 6-0, 6-0 No. 2 doubles winners. Tyler Engstrom and Martin McBride won the No. 3 doubles match, 6-0, 6-1.

Rice won the No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, Wednesday and Fabian Saenz took the No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3. Travis Wagner and Tim Blackner took No. 1 doubles, 6-0, default, 6-2, with the Gators' Lawrence Lin and Austin Decker winning No. 2 doubles, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. Jared Watson and Mike Motalbo won the No. 3 doubles match, 6-2, 6-1.

Colin Okazaki scored a 6-2, 6-1 No. 1 singles victory Wednesday and Sam Yi won the No. 2 match, 6-1, 6-0. Eric Nishimura and Derek Moore won the No. 1 doubles match, 6-3, 6-2. Martin McBride and Josh Williams were 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 winners, while the No. 3 match went to Tyler Engstrom and Greg Yu, 6-4, 6-4.

Colin McKenzie of the Gators shot a round of 39 to win medalist honors, but Auburn-Riverside won the overall match.

Jenna Rochelle led the Gators to victory with a medalist winning round of 38.

The Gators were 25-19, 25-11, 25-12 winners over their crosstown rivals from Federal Way in Tuesday, Sept. 27 action.
Salena Dickerson scored seven kills and two blocks for the Eagles, while Tekina Havili had five kills, Nichole Snortland four assists and Nadine llaina six assists.
For the victorious Gators, Brittany Kohler had seven kills and three aces while Stefanie Rojas had 12 kills and two aces. T.C. Colon scored 11 kills, Katie Wilson 27 assists and Witney Iwasaki 12 digs.

The Titans absorbed a 25-18, 25-7, 25-19 loss Tuesday, Sept. 27.

The Gators came up short against Spanaway Lake Thursday, 25-15, 19-25, 26-28, 25-20, 15-13.
Rojas had 15 kills and Kohler 12, while Colon scored seven kills and five blocks. Katie Wilson led with 34 assists and Iwasaki led with 17 digs.
Curtis 3, Beamer 1
Todd Beamer took a 25-14, 14-25, 25-21, 25-22 loss to the Vikings Thursday. Chelsie Nichols had nine kills and 10 digs and Manna Vouhi 19 assists.

Nicole Peterson put in the Titans' lone goal Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Curtis 2, Decatur 0
Decatur took a shutout loss against goalie Kelly Roark and the Curtis defense Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Em. Ridge 2, TJ 0
Thomas Jefferson was also blanked Thursday, with Jen Brumbaugh earning the shutout.
Decatur 1, Beamer 0
Laura Bressler scored the goal for the Gators Thursday and Kaelyn Kanesta earned the shutout on goal.
Cross country
Decatur
The Gator boys took a 24-37 loss to Curtis and a 24-35 loss to Kentlake Wednesday, while the girls lost, 21-36, to Curtis and lost, 26-30, to Kentlake.
Becky Williams of Decatur won the girls individual race with a time of 20:00 and Kim Barney took seventh in 22:24.
Justin Englund of Decatur took the boys race in 17:02, while Justin Helm finished fourth in 17:59.
Federal Way
Federal Way won by forfeit over Kent-Meridian on the girls side last Wednesday, and they only lost to first place Sumner, 21-35.
The boys took a 25-30 loss to Kent-Meridian but topped Sumner, 24-34.
Rose Habitamu placed fifth in the girls race in 24:10 and Jenna Warren was seventh in 24:80 right ahead of teammates Elisa Lopez (25:12), Carmen Acuna (25:27) and Jazmine Troutt (25:38).

The Raiders won both competitions on the girls side Wednesday. TJ posted a 15-47 win over Emerald Ridge and a 15-49 win over Bethel.
As for the boys, they took a 25-30 loss to Kent-Meridian and a 24-34 victory over Sumner.
Kenna Patrick of the girls team won the individual race with a course record 19:36 time. The old record of 20:22 was set in 2002 by TJ's Tera Brockman.
Hilorie Hildebrandt took second in Wednesday's individual action in 20:07 ahead of teammates Vanessa Bennum (20:25), Meridith Dyer (20:43) and Cassidy Robey (20:57). Natalie Jarvey was seventh in 21:08, Megan Colvin eighth in 22:00 and Elicia Clark ninth in 22:15.
Erik Church snagged second in the boys race in 16:38 and Serge Marchenko was third in 17:28 ahead of Jon Harper in 17:32.
Girls swimming
TJ107, Em. R. 76
Friedhoff won the 200-yard individual medley for TJ in a time of 2 minutes, 16.57 seconds Thursday, then she came back to take the 100 freestyle in 56.92.
Thomas Jefferson won the 200 free relay in 1:46.12 and the 400 free relay in 4:05.98.
Curtis 99, Decatur 87
Decatur took the 200 medley relay in 1:58.18 Thursday, then had Alyssa Boggs take the 200 free in 2:08.47 and Matulich the 200 IM in 2:15.7. B. Boggs won the 50 free in 26.04 and Robinson-Hamm the diving competition with 108.55 points. B. Boggs took the 100 free in 1:00.82 and A. Boggs the 100 free in 58.62. Alger won the 500 free in 5:32.25 and Decatur won the 200 free relay in 1:47.73. Alger also won the 100 back in 1:06.79 and Matulich took the 100 breast in 1:10.65.
