Fed. Way 36, Em. Ridge 24

Federal Way trailed the Jaguars, 24-19, going into the fourth quarter, but the Eagles came to life and scored 17 in the final period.

Jimmy Ivory returned a kickoff 92 yards for the Eagles' first touchdown, then Victor Williams ran for a 9-yard touchdown run. Lalo Morales kicked the extra point after the first touchdown but the kick failed after the second.

Federal Way stayed ahead, 13-7, going into the second quarter, and 19-17 at the end of the third quarter. Brandon Williams scored the Eagles' second quarter touchdown on a 58-yard pass reception from Donny McConnaughy. The kick also failed after that score.

Then came the crazy fourth quarter.

McConnaughey scored on a 14-yard keeper and Williams booted the PAT, then Lenee Williams punched in a 5-yard run and Morales kicked the PAT.

Federal Way picked up its final two points on a safety after a bad Emerald Ridge snap.

Fed. Way 24, TJ 16

The Eagles took a 21-0 lead by halftime Friday, then held off a 16-point Thomas Jefferson scoring binge in the fourth quarter.

Victor Williams scored on a 43-yard fumble return to open for Federal Way, then ran for a 61-yard touchdown and a 40-yard touchdown.

The first attempt at an extra point failed, but Lenee Williams ran for a two-point conversion after the second touchdown and Morales kicked for one after the third touchdown.

Morales then booted a 34-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter before TJ went to work.

Chris Rattery scored on a 27-yard run and Tim Satterwhite receied a pass from Taylor Stark for a two-point conversion. Josh Hauck then scored on a 35-yard run and Cory Haywood threw to Ratteray for another two-point conversion.

The Gators were shut out by the Sentinels in Friday's action at Bethel's Art Crate Field.

The Gators blanked the Braves in action Monday, Sept. 19.

Chris Rice won his No. 1 singles match for a 6-1, 6-0 score and teammate Kevin Hilden took the No. 2 match, 6-2, 6-3.

Fabian Saenz and Lawrence Lin teamed up to take the No. 1 doubles team, 6-2, 6-0, and Travis Wagner and Kevin Blackner won No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-0. Joey Hua and Jared Watson were 6-2, 6-1 No. 3 doubles winners.

Colin Okzaki won No. 1 singles for the Raiders in their Monday, Sept. 19 action by a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 score. Chris Yoon and John Poore were 6-1, 6-3 No. 1 doubles winners and the No.2 match went to Josh Williams and Sam Yi, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Eric Nishimura and Derek Moore took No. 3 doubles, 6-0, 6-2.

Katie Wilson had 27 assists for the Gators Tuesday, Sept. 20,while Stefani Rojas had 12 kills and Whitney Iwasaki 20 digs.

Brittany Kohler contributed six kills and seven blocks and Sam Walden six kills. T.C. Colon led with six blocks.

The Raiders took a 25-20, 17-25, 25-11, 25-17 loss to the Sentinels Thursday.

Emily Seekins made 32 digs and Megan Housman 27 digs as Lindsey Sweat earned 11 assists.

Bethel beat Beamer by a 16-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-17 score Thursday.

Adrienne Gradon had 11 kills and 12 digs for the Titans and Breanna Bocchi led with 32 assists.

Em. Ridge 3, Decatur 0

The Gators dropped a 25-4, 25-18, 25-11 match against Emerald Ridge Thursday.

Brittany Kohler and Stefanie Rojas racked up five kills each and Katie Wilson led with 12 assists, Whitney Iwasaki with 10 digs and T.C. Colon with four blocks.

Kelci Keyes earned the shutout for the Eagles in a Tuesday, Sept. 20 match.

Bree Rowe scored the only goal on a Kaitlyn Keyes assist in the 66th minute.

TJ 4, Rogers 0

Ellen Yates was the goalkeeper who recorded a shutout for the Raiders Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Mel Hicks, meanwhile, scored unassisted in the 16th minute and Ashley Brough struck unassisted in the 24th. Sara Byrne put in an unassisted goal in the 34th minute and Hicks scored another unassisted goal in the 60th.

The Gators beat first year school Graham-Kapowsin with the help of a shutout by Kaelyn Kanesta.

Kelsey Lusebrink scored on a Kayla Frazier assist in the 46th minute and Jolina Amarino on a Jordan Gilmar assist in the 49th. Amanda Murphy scored unassisted in the 56th.

Beamer 1, Curtis 1

Amanda Clunch scored an unassisted goal in the 68th minute to force a tie for the Titans.

Amy Friedhoff won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1 minute, 58.25 seconds Tuesday, Sept. 20. Bonny Ray scored 110.05 points to win diving and Friedhoff won the 100 free in 56.56. Thomas Jefferson also won both the 200 free relay (1:52.85) and 400 free relay (4:00.14).

Rogers 97, Beamer 86

The Titans opened by winning the 200 medley relay in 2:04.46 and had LaChance win the 50 free in 27.23. Soria won the 100 butterfly in 1:08.94 and Beamer won the 200 free relay. Murphy took the 100 backstroke in 1:11.63.

Decatur 98, Em. Ridge 72

Decatur took the 200 medley relay in 2:01.88 on Tuesday, Sept 20 and Alyssa Boggs won the 200 free in 2:06.98. Katie Matulic took the 200 individual medley in 2:17.66 and Briley Boggs took the 50 free in 26.56 and the 100 fly in 1:01.98. Alyssa Boggs took the 100 free in 59.26. Decatur won the 200 free relay in 1:49.42 and Matulic won the 100 breast in 1:11.25 and the Gators also won the 400 free relay in 4:27.44.

TJ 98, Beamer 88

Beamer won the 200 medley relay in 2:02.93 , with MacLura taking the 200 free in 2:10.16 and Friedhoff the 200 IM in 2:16.93. Murphy won the 50 free in 26.43 for Beamer and teammate Burns scored 163.20 to take diving. Soria scoed a win in the 100 fly in 1:08.76 and Friedhoff took the 100 free in 55.54. Ward won the 500 free in 6:33.54 and Thomas Jefferson took the 200 free relay in 1:47.04. Murphy took the 100 back in 1:10.30 and teammate Freeborn the 100 breast in 1:19.89. TJ took the 400 free relay in 4:02.03.

Steve Enberg of Todd Beamer won medalist honors last Tuesday with a score of 37. Charles Lee and Keenan Darrow of TJ tied Thomas Jun of the Titans at 39. Matt Sullivan of TJ scored a 40.

Cross country

Todd Beamer

Both the Todd Beamer boys and girls teams took double losses Wednesday.

The boys took a 21-39 loss to Emerald Ridge and a 24-30 loss to Kentlake, while the girls lost, 25-30, to Emerald Ridge and a 23-32 loss to Kentlake.

Brigham took second in the boys race in 17:53 and Eidsmo came in seventh in 18:25.

Williams won the girls race for the Titans in 21:51 and Reilly was seventh in 23:38.

Decatur

The boys and girls teams both posted 1-1 records in three team meets last Wednesday.

The boys won, 24-32, compared to Kent-Meridian and lost, 24-37, to Puyallup. The girls defeated Kent-Meridian, 19-36, and lost to Puyallup, 23-36.

Justin Englund won the boys race in 16:55, with teammate Justin Helm finishing third in 18:19.

Becky Williams of Decatur took second in the girls race in 20:22, just ahead of teammate Kim Barney's 20:26. Jill Hilden finished eighth in 23:48.

Federal Way

Federal Way took two losses on both the boys and girls side last Wednesday. The Eagle boys lost, 20-40, to Curtis and 26-29 to Kentridge, while the girls lost, 15-50, to Curtis and 20-38 to Kentridge.

Heinen came in third in boys action in 14:39 and Campbell was eighth in 15:10. Habitamy was 10th in the girls race in 19:20.

Thomas Jefferson

The Raiders came through with a double sweep last Wednesday.

The boys were 24-31 winners over Rogers and 19-39 winners over Spanaway Lake. For the girls, TJ defeated Rogers, 20-42, and topped Spanaway Lake, 15-50.

Erik Church won the boys race for the Raiders in 13:33, with Serge Marchenko second in 13:53 and Jon Harper third in 14:11. Michael Potter was 10th in 15:24.

Cassidy Robey took second in the girls race in 16:35, with Meridith Dyer third in 16:38 ahead of Camryn Patrick (16:54) and Vanessa Bennum (16:55). Natalie Jarvey was sixth in 16:56 and Jessica Fritsch seventh in 17:14. Megan Colvin was 10th in 17:43.
