1. Federal Way officers arrested Barry W. Reffitt near 33325 8th Avenue South for an outstanding warrant. Reffitt told police he had an outstanding warrant for an escape from the Department of Corrections. Federal Way officers confirmed the warrant with dispatch and placed Reffitt under arrest. They later transported him to the RJC in Kent for booking.
Bipolar man deemed missing from city
2. The caregivers of a man diagnosed as bipolar and mentally retarded contacted Federal Way police to report that he was missing. The man, the report states, has a history of leaving the house. He was lasted reported leaving the house wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and Reebok shoes. There were no injuries noted in the report prior to him leaving the house, and there are currently no suspicious circumstances connected to the incident. The victim is known to frequent the Burien and Bremerton areas, where his grandparents reside.
Thieves strike Federal Way apartment complex
3. The resident of an apartment complex at 125 Southwest Campus Drive contacted Federal Way police to report the vehicle prowl of some of their property. The report states that the victim was an employee of Verizon NW. The thieves swiped a VISA gas card, and Identification card and $100 in assorted tools from the white 1998 Ford. There are no suspects in the case and no known witnesses. Federal Way officers have deemed the case closed pending new leads.
Car prowlers target unlocked Volvo
4. The owner of a red 1998 Volvo called Federal Way police to report his vehicle was broken into while parked in front of his business at 29404 Pacific Highway South. The man told Federal Way police that he left his Volvo unlocked, so there is no damage to report, and he discovered several items missing from his vehicle. The list of stolen items included $1,050 in clothing, a leather briefcase and $150 in currency. There are no witnesses, suspects or physical evidence, and officers have closed the case pending new leads.
Crackhead busted near vet hospital
5. Officers arrested a man outside the backdoor of the Crestwood Animal Hospital near 28822 Pacific Highway South for stealing items bound for the lab. A search of the suspect revealed a glass smoking pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine.
