Traffic stop leads police to two fugitives

1. Around 10 p.m. on January 9, Federal Way police stopped at white 1989 Dodge for a routine traffic violation near 34600 21st Avenue Southwest. A license check revealed the driver, Richelle Peterson, was driving with a suspended license and had a warrant out of Federal Way. The warrant was confirmed through records. The subject was cited for driving without a valid license and booked on her warrant. Gene's towing impounded the vehicle. Peterson was arrested without incident.
Report of suicidal man involves Federal Way police
2. Federal Way officers smelled alcohol on the breath of a man who claimed he wanted to commit suicide, the police log reported. The man lives in an apartement complex at 2429 South 273rd Place. The victim reported drinking three 16 ounce beers within the last hour. Since he didn't have a gun, the report continued, the man told Federal Way police that he intended to slice his wrists in order to kill himself. He also told police that he was feeling very depressed because of some relationship issues. Officers obvserved several superficial scratches to the victim's neck. He later told police that he intended to jump off of a bridge instead.
Burglary takes place while victim is at work
3. A man contacted Federal Way police to report that his home had been broken into while he was at work. The man resides on the 35900 block of 1st Avenue South. The police log reports that the man stated he received a call from a neighbor around noon. The neighbor told him that a suspicious car was parked in front of his residence. Whe the victim arrived home, he discovered that an unknown suspect had broken into his residence and stolen $880 worth of property. There are no leads at this time.
No child abuse, but investigation turns up fugitive
4. Federal Way police received a call from the principal of Lake Grove Elementary regarding a possible child abuse case with one of the students there. Federal Way officers followed up on the information and determined that no child abuse had taken place at the residence in question, a home on the 30600 block of 3rd Avenue South. During the investigation, however, the police determined that the boyfriend, Rodman Jones, had a confirmed warrant out of Redmond. Federal Way police transferred Jones immediately into Redmond PD custody. The police will continue to try and contact the mother.
Big 5 Sporting Goods receives mysterious harassing calls
5. Representatives from the Big 5 sporting goods store, located at 1916 South 320th, contacted Federal Way police to report that several of the staff had received profaine and harassing phone calls. The report states that the employees received various calls from an unknown woman who yelled profainity and uttered nonsense. One of the representatives of Big 5 told the woman to stop calling, but the female continues to call. They are unable to obtain a phone number and requested a case number from Federal Way police so that they can generate a case with the phone company, Granite. The phone calls have been coming in regularly since November 24, 2006.
Unknown thieves nab packages left by FedEx
6. A couple, who lives on the 4200 block of 314th Place South, contacted Federal Way police to report that they had a package stolen from their home. The couple indicated that the FedEx driver reportedly left the package at the door. The driver confirmed their statement. A few days later, the sender asked if the couple had received the package, and said that they had tracked it via the internet and confirmed that it was delivered on the 20th. The couple surmised that someone came behind the FedEx driver and stolen the package. A survey of their neighbors suggested that the couple was not the only victims of package theft recently.
Drug thieves take medication, paperwork from couple's vehicle
7. The residents of an apartment complex located at 1900 Southwest Campus Drive contacted Federal Way police to report that an unknown person or persons broke into their green 1994 Buick and stole various prescription drugs sometime between midnight and noon on January 9. The woman told police that the thieves had stolen her back medication and her husband's pain medication, as well as some personal papers from the visor and a preidot stone ring. The pain medication was methadone, filled on January 5, and her husband's medication was percocet, filled the same day. Some zanax was stolen from the vehicle as well. There are no witnesses or suspects in the case, and officers have closed the investigation pending new leads.
Driver of a green van a possible suspect in car break-ins
8. A woman, who lives on the 1500 block of South 350th Street, contacted Federal Way police to report that an unknown person or persons had broken into her vehicle and stolen various forms of identification. The suspect(s) broke out the rear passenger vehicle, reached in and removed her purse from the front seat. They did not open the door. The purse contained a small amount of money ($17), a debit card, her ID, medical information, medication, a check stub and all that other stuff that you never want to lose, including her birth certificate. As she was approaching her vehicle, she noticed an older green van that was parked next to her car that was taking his time leaving his parking spot. The woman noticed the same vehicle previously, about a week or so ago, with a man in it just sitting in the lot. The woman suspects the man is involved in the break-in.
