At 5:29 a.m. on July 26, South King Fire and Rescue firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 31500 block of 39th Ave Southwest in Federal Way.

The structure was a single family home belonging to Gerry Walters, a flight attendant who works for Delat Airlines. Neither Walters nor his wife was home at the time.

According to South King Fire and Resuce, four engines, a ladder and an aid unit were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival fire crews found a fire involving the attic and much of the residence.

The fire was under control within 40 minutes.

There were no injuries. Walters said that he and his wife will be staying with family members in the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the South King Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal's Office. Damage is estimated at $350,000 to the structure and $100,000 to contents.
