The Federal Way Sunrise Rotary Club has chosen a new leader.
Jodi Kauer was elected president of the Sunrise Rotary club effective July 1, 2007 for one year preceding the outstanding service of past president Byron Hiller.
Jodi joined Rotary because she witnessed "the members' integrity and professionalism coupled with a deep concern for our community and wanted to be a part of that group."
Plans for next year include an international project in connection with World Vision to build a well and water system in a village in Ecuador.
The Sunrise Club is actively involved in local schools tutoring, providing scholarships to Truman students, dictionaries for children, Christmas shopping and train trips for disadvantaged/at-risk students and various international support for our troops and eradication of polio.
Rotary is an international service organization of 1.2 million men and women to promote peace and goodwill around the world.
The Federal Way Sunrise Rotary Club meets on Tuesday's at Marie Caleandar's restaurant at 7:15 a.m., and as always, the public is welcome to get involved.
