BELLINGHAM - Two residents of Federal Way who attend WWU, David Choi and Mark Pridgeon, were recently awarded The Multicultural Achievement Program Scholarship from Western Washington University for the 2007-2008 academic year.
The Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to multicultural issues and activities in school or the community.
David Choi
David Choi, son of Jun and Bok Choi, received a $1,000 scholarship. Choi graduated from Decatur High School with a 3.58 GPA.
He was the ASB President, a member of the National Honor Society, played on the basketball, baseball, and tennis teams, and participated in FCCLA and DECA.
Choi plans to major in secondary education and become a teacher and a high school coach after graduating from Western.
Mark Pridgeon
Mark Pridgeon, son of Terry Koubeie, received a $2,000 scholarship. Pridgeon graduated from Todd Beamer High School with a 3.42 GPA and played track, football, and wrestling.
He plans to major in secondary education at Western.
