Charlie Hoff blames people, but does not provide identification of root causes. Root causes of negative effects must be identified before solutions are developed.
Mr. Hoff blames the volunteers who provide scholarships, tutoring, school supplies, clothes, food and presents to children and their families, and much more. Unlike him, we show up at graduations to support those who have achieved results. Too bad Mr. Hoff refused to do so when he was a school board member.
I question if knows who really are the customers of the school system. I don't think it is someone sounding like he wants power to be elected to the board again. This series in the paper is written as a cynic.
Sorry, I don't blame volunteers as much as the cynics. I know we need many improvements in schools and everything we do. Blame gets in the way.
