Swim, bike, run or volunteer your way through the fifth annual U.S. Women's Triathlon at Steel Lake Park in Federal Way, Sept. 7. A women-only triathlon, the Federal Way race is the second of a four-city nationwide series.
Lady triathletes
Ladies of all athletic ability are invited to participate in the triathlon benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The race offers two options - a sprint race and a super-sprint race.
Sprint - .47 mile swim, 13.8 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Super-Sprint - .23 mile swim, 6.2 mile bike, 1.55 mile run
Participants can run as individuals or in relay fashion. Entry fees range from $70 to $130.

All participants are encouraged to attend the MultiSport Experience event Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Steel Lake Park, South 312th Street. The MultiSport event includes training and nutrition clinics, product demonstrations and bargains on shoes, gear and apparel. Athletes can claim their triathlon goodie-bags, timing equipment and registration packets, while also getting body-marked and getting acquainted with the course and race procedures.
The MultiSport Experience is free and open to the public. Athletes are also invited to enjoy food and beverages at a post-race party at Steel Lake Park.
Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for the event. Groups may qualify for special monetary incentives

Last year's triathlon had about 1,000 participants and raised $32,000 for the Ovarian
Cancer Research Fund.
