I wish more people knew of the advantages of using our Metro transit buses for local transportation.

For over 50 years the local buses have taken me downtown to shop and to my work place. It has been a pleasant and rewarding experience.

I have missed stress from heavy traffic, accidents and lack of parking space. The bus always let me off just a few blocks from where I worked or shopped. I started my day with sightseeing and exercise.

I have been able to see and enjoy the various parts of the city - often with a camera in hand. I've explored the streets of downtown Seattle, Pioneer Square, the waterfront, University of Washington campus, Seattle Center and my own district, Ballard. Now these walks and photographs have taken on historical significance because of the many changes in our city and the destruction of landmarks.

The bus ride is a sightseeing experience as it provides wonderful views from being higher off the roadbed than a private car. Having a professional driver at the wheel is a taste of luxury.
