The Ballard High School Youth Basketball Camp is coming up on June 25 through 28 and will be lead by one of Washington State's top coaches in Karen Blair.
Blair is the second year head coach of the Ballard High girls varsity team and will be assisted by her staff, current players and former players.
Two sessions will be offered. Session one is for boys and girls in grades one through four will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. during the camp. Session two is for girls only, grades five through 9 from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
There will be individual and group instruction, emphasis on fundamentals, position skill development and team play.
Blair brings her extensive experience in leading her Beaver team into the KingCo playoffs the last two seasons.
She has a 277 and 63 overall record at Ballard High and Meadowdale High. At Meadowdale, Blair achieved these honors: two state championships (2004 and 2000); six district championships; ten league titles; 2005 Seattle Post-Intelligencer Coach of the Year; 2001 and 1996 Seattle Times Coach of the Year; 2005, 2000 and 1997 Everett Herald Coach of the Year; 2000 Everett Herald Sports Woman of the Year; 2000 Tacoma News Tribune Coach of the Year.
The Camp Directors are Ballard assistants Bryan Howisy and Jessica Howisy. The camps are $70 before June 19 and $80 after that date.
