Saturday morning, around 1:30, a man dressed only in a red spandex Speedo bathing suit jumped from some bushes and grabbed a woman in the alley in the 4700 block of California SW. He asked the woman if she was OK. She was able to run from him. Officers checked the area but found nothing.
A young woman returned to her parked car at the Junction. She found it in the middle of the alley, bumped up against another car. She tearfully told the officer that she had locked the car and left it in Park, but at it was now unlocked, in Drive, and contained garbage that was not hers. The officer found no signs of forced entry and no signs of an attempted auto theft. The mystery is unsolved.
Late Tuesday, in the Alki area, a woman was working on her computer in a front window of her ground-floor apartment, when she saw someone taking pictures of her. The shutterbug ran away after being spotted.
While walking past a home on 31st SW, a young man was approached by a man working in the yard. The suspect offered the 19-year-old money to perform a sexual act. Officers checked the license plates of vehicles in the area, and one belongs to a registered sex offender. No one answered the door at the suspect residence.
Monday afternoon, in the 5900 block of 48th SW, a citizen found a bullet hole in the through the rear license plate of his van. Shots had been reported to 911 on the previous day.
A black female in her 30s entered a business in the 5400 block of California Ave. Tuesday afternoon. She was seen near an office desk and seemed nervous when asked if she needed help. She claimed she wanted only a business card. An employee who sits at the desk later discovered that her debit card and $180 cash were missing. The suspect drove off in a white sedan with a temporary license plate in the window.
An officer driving near 39th and SW 106th noticed a suspicious motorcycle license plate. The driver produced a Louisiana ID card and a suspended Louisiana driver's license. He was carrying a large folding knife in his coat pocket, along with marijuana and methamphetamine. A fixed-blade knife was also attached to the steering column of the cycle which-surprise-was listed as stolen from an Alki-area residence. Though the suspect claimed he bought the bike from a guy in White Center, the officer noted that the suspect lives less than a block away from the cycle's registered owner. The 28-year-old was booked into King County Jail for investigation of drug charges and auto theft.
As a woman walked with her two kids near 8th South and Trenton, her ex-boyfriend-whom she has a protection order against-rode up to them on a bicycle, tried the coax the children to go with him, and then grabbed the youngest and rode off with her.

Twelve domestic violence incidents and 14 car prowls were reported in greater West Seattle last week.
