Federal Way Police followed up on an outstanding warrant issued to the resident of 601 West James St. in Kent, originating froms

Officers apprehended a shoplifter from the Fred Meyer store at 33702 21st Avenue SW, shortly after 5 p.m. The thief, a male, was accused of lifting several Sony video games, and after police took him in custody, he admitted stealing the merchandise. The male was released pending the filing of charges and was subsequently trespassed from all Fred Meyer stores.
A case of malicious mischief was reported at the Glen Park Apartments at 952 SW Campus Drive. The resident of unit #18-A1 reported that someone had written "radically offensive" graffiti on a landscaping post in front of his townhouse. The resident did not see the graffiti when he left for work at 5 a.m., but noticed it upon his return at 3:20 p.m. Federal Way Police have no suspects at this time.
A resident at 105 South 295th Place reported mail theft from his street-side mailbox. The victim told police an older man pulled up to his box in an old blue Caravan with temporary plates and stole two pieces of outgoing mail left for pickup. One item was a legal document for his son, and the other piece of mail was a credit card bill containing a personal check.
The owner of a business at 33743 9th Avenue South reported the theft of a backpack containing two video cameras. The man kept the cameras in an unsecured location behind his desk in his office. He said that he usually kept his office locked when he wasn't there, and the only persons with keys to his office are the three managers. The owner does not suspect the managers in the theft, but believes that one of them might have left his office unlocked by accident.
Level 3 sex offender Kevin D. McFarland submitted a change of address form to the King County Sheriff's office indicating that he is currently residing on the 2900 block of Pacific Hwy. South. Level 3 indicates that McFarland is likely to commit a similar crime.
Child Protective Services notified the Federal Way Police that a 14-year-old male student from Saghalie Middle School reported that his father was hitting him in his face and head. School officials observed no injuries.
A resident at 3526 SW 342nd Street reported the fraudulent use of his Washington State Employees Credit Union debit/Visa card. He noticed a transaction of $800 to Cingular Wireless made via phone with his card number.
Officers responded to a domestic dispute at 1900 SW Campus Drive, 45-102, where a victim had reported that another person at that residence had stomped her foot, causing pain. Officers observed redness and swelling of the victim's left foot, but she refused to cooperate and allow the police to photograph her injury. Federal Way Police made an arrest for simple assault.
A woman called the Federal Way Police to report her son being disrespectful to her. The boy made no complaint of pain. Officer Kline told the woman that hitting her son in the face was probably not the best way to discipline him.
Federal Way Police conducted a welfare check on a woman at 3100 SW 313th Street. The woman had a confirmed no contact order against the suspect, a male, whom police found at the residence. He was in direct violation of the protection order and officers arrested him and booked him in the Fife Jail.
A man at 2048 South 327th Lane, FF104, reported that a woman he knew had forged his signature on a check and withdrew $1250 from his account. She also paid a Direct TV bill in the amount of $87.19 from his Washington Mutual account. The man stated that he used to live at the same residence as the suspect, but he cannot figure out how she obtained his account information.
Federal Way officers responded to a call regarding a suicidal subject at 1413 SW 307th Street. Police identified the man as Christopher J. Meithof. Prior to arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Meithof had a confirmed warrant for his arrest. They took the man into custody.
Officers picked up Robert L. Tranberg from 36201 Enchanted Parkway South on an outstanding Federal Way warrant.
A man called Federal Way Police to report a break-in to his vehicle while parked overnight in the hotel lot at 32124 25th Avenue South. The man returned to his vehicle and found the driver's side doorlock punched. Thieves had also lifted his wallet, containing $100 in cash, and the in-dash navigation system. The thieves also made several attempts to use his credit cards after the man had cancelled them.
Police helped a resident of 4113 SW 321st Street, a non-criminal Alzheimer's patient, find his way home. Officers discovered him wandering around the neighborhood near his address. He was released to his wife.
Federal Way officers responded to a call shortly after 4:20 p.m. involving a couple at 28720 18th Ave South Z302. The two persons involved are in a dating relationship and have children together. They engaged in argument, and one of the residents pushed the other, spit in her face and pushed her into a wall, causing damage. The assailant then attempted to strangle the victim, causing light scratches, and then destroyed a computer monitor at the residence. The suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived.
