To commemorate their 60th birthday the Highline Times gave a gift back to the community by throwing a bonanza of a bash for the local theatre group the Hi-Liners.
Civic and community leaders gathered at the Burien Elks Lodge on Aug. 17 for an experience of dinner theatre and good old fashion socializing. The Hi-Liners performed
three spectacular scenes from their
upcoming production of
West Side Story.
Between scenes Hi-Liner parents and board members advocated the importance of youth theatre in the community. At the conclusion of the evening the audience gladly proved their appreciation of the arts by collectively donating over $10,000 dollars in fund raising money, which the
Hi-Liners congenially accepted.
