A big THANK YOU for Burien's summer Concerts in the Park series, which ended recently.

For several years, hundreds of people have been enjoying a good variety of band music Thursday nights at Lake Burien School Park, thanks to the hard-working staff of Burien's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department.

This is a special project of the city's Arts Commission.

Thanks also to additional sponsors, King County's 4Culture and Burien's allcredit Motors. allcredit not only helped pay for the bands, they sent staff to each concert to give away free refreshments.

This is a great example of partnerships working to enhance the quality of life in our community. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying picnics along with the music, and I look forward to Thursday nights next summer.
