Dueling windows

On SW Holden, two women involved in a neighborly dispute live across the street from each other. They have resorted to posting derogatory signs about one another in their streetside windows. Officers have advised the two to get anti-harassment orders and to refrain from posting the signs.
On 7th SW, two pitbulls got loose, entered a nearby garage, and killed the neighbor's $2,000 Pomeranian. This is the second time the dogs have attacked. The owner said he would call Animal Control and have the two put to sleep.
A burglar made it easy for officers to track him down. When he left the scene of the crime, he also left behind a "release form" from King County Superior Court. The form had his name on it.
Friends became concerned after they picked up an intoxicated pal following an automobile accident. They took her to a West Seattle home, where she took five or six sleeping pills. Because she has a history of making suicide threats, they called for assistance. The woman was treated by medics, and an officer had her taken to Harborview for a mental health exam.
An Animal Control officer came to a 58th Ave. SW residence in response to animal cruelty complaints. A man there claimed the pitbulls tied up in the backyard were his girlfriend's. When the officer began taking pictures of the dog's poor living conditions, the man threatened him, but he ran away with two other suspects before officers arrived. The home in question seemed vacant, but two additional pitbulls are living inside.
Three males in their late teens got away after assaulting a man and his female friend near the Westwood QFC. The suspects were walking abreast, north on the sidewalk and the couple was walking south. As they passed, the victim had to turn sideways to get by the three. In doing so, he made contact with one of the suspects. All three turned to follow the couple, accusing the victim of hitting them. The couple ignored the three, but suddenly the victim was struck from the side and knocked to the ground. He scraped his nose and his prescription glasses were knocked off. One of the suspects picked up the glasses, and the three left casually on foot, splitting up and going into different stores. An area search was unsuccessful. All suspects are black and 18-22 years of age. One had a large build, and wore a white and black sweatsuit and a white stocking cap. A second was of average build and wore a white baseball cap, black coat and white T-shirt. He had a goatee and mustache.
As two sisters drove northbound on Delridge (with two children in the back) on Tuesday evening, they were followed at close distance by the father of the two children. He suddenly veered around in front of their car and slammed on his brakes, forcing them to stop. He walked to their car, threw upon the driver's door, and grabbed one woman by the neck with both hands. The sister was able to get out of the car and pull him off. He then attacked the sister. She got back into the car and they were able to drive away. Officers went to the suspect's house but he was not there.
Early Wednesday, officers responded to Delridge and Brandon to reports of a man running in and out of traffic. He was intoxicated and belligerent, said he was homeless and wanted to tell officers about all of the "bad people in West Seattle." The man is known to the Department of Corrections and was booked into King County Jail for parole violations. The man told the jail staff that he had a "meth problem" and had smoked some that afternoon.
A local woman met a man on a "party line" and had him over to spend the night two days later. She got up early to put her daughter on the school bus and then went back to bed. When she woke up several hours later, the man was gone, as were a dufflebag and 60 CDs. She told officers she couldn't provide much information about the suspect.
A 15-year-old was released to his father after speeding down California Avenue at 70-80 miles per hour (without headlights) early Friday. The car was not reported as stolen, but it was registered to an address in South Dakota. According to police reports, the suspect has been involved in many property crimes over the past several weeks.
Two West Seattle residents were held in custody, and two others were investigated and released after allegedly robbing and intimidating a man at California and Alaska Sunday evening. The victim was able to escape to a local business and call 911. The suspects came into the business and approached him like a "buddy" and tried to separate him from other patrons. He refused and was able to wait until officers arrived.
As a man drove near 25th and Trenton, a male in his 20s approached the passenger door, jumped into the car and grabbed the victim's wallet. The victim hit the accelerator and the two struggled for several blocks. The suspect waved a hammer and yelled, so the victim crashed deliberately into a telephone pole. The suspect escaped with the victim's money. He is a black male in his 20s, with muscular build, loose braids, and a light blue jersey and jeans.
Forty-one car prowls, 18 domestic violence incidents, and five cases of gas drive-offs and fuel siphonings were reported in greater West Seattle last week.
